Shannon and Russ got married in South Dakota. This wedding was so special and the best part is that I never saw so many dogs together in a wedding.

What a fun and blessed day! Congratulation Russ and Shannon!

The day that I decided to photograph this couple was not a good weather day. It was not just cloudy but you could hear the storm coming. But we did not give up and I am so glad that we didn’t give up! The photos turned out to be so beautiful and I cannot be happier!

The journey of 2 passionate photographers / Twins

Have you ever had someone in your life that you could not tolerate to be away from? For me, that is my sister. Joice and I are identical twins and very close to each other. Since birth we have been inseparable, which created a unique relationship.  We were always in the same classes even through college.

Immediately following graduation I got married, literally the next weekend! Initially my sister felt left out, but God is good and she got married 6 months after me (lucky her). But the sad part is that my husband got a job in Texas and her husband in South Dakota. Our hearts grew sad and our phone bills super high! God knows everything! He helped us to grow individually, and develop (finally) on our own.  God also knows the importance for us to see each other.

Since we were little we knew the importance of taking pictures to document life, so we could always remember those special moments. Of course always carrying a camera with us helped grow our love for art and photography. We followed our passion and graduated with a degree in advertising and marketing, along with sneaking in a few extra courses in photography. About a year later we decided to pursue professional photography separately, my sister in South Dakota, and me in Texas. Shortly afterwards my beautiful sister (she looks just like me) asked if I would like to team up with her to photograph weddings. I thought that it was a good idea, but I did not pursue it too much since we were so far apart, and I was also working a part-time job as a marketing assistant.

After a few months of putting off what I felt could be my dream job, I decided to quit my other job and become a full time photographer. Now I can tell you that I feel complete, there is nothing like doing what you love. Since dedicating more of my time to photography, doors have opened up for both of us and now we are able to see each other 2 to 3 times a month for photoshoots. We changed our phone plans so that we don’t pay extra for all the time spent talking to each other. And we enjoy working together doing what we love!

What a great journey this has been for us! God united us in our mother’s womb, separated us for a purpose and then reunited us far greater then what we were expecting.

If you don’t understand why things are happening in your life right now, do what I did: give it to God. Rest in the knowledge that He knows what He is doing. He will make it happen for you, don’t give up!

Lightroom : above my expectations!

I was editing a photo session and decided to go a little further into the editing than I typically do. I know that it is hard to edit hundreds of pictures with the same precision and it takes a lot of time, but in this blog I want to demonstrate the power of lightroom.
Just as a reminder, I put together the before and after photos in Photoshop, but the color and light of the photos were all done by lightroom.
Lightroom is a very simplified version of Photoshop. It cost way less than Photoshop and it is designed to help photographers deliver fantastic products like the photos I posted below.
If you don’t know how to use lightroom, I would highly recommend that you start to research more about this software. I know, you might be thinking “I can’t afford paying for classes now,” but you can google free tutorials or simply go on youtube to find out that you can truly learn how to use this powerful tool to your benefit.
If you have questions about how to use lightroom or want to know what I did to get the after photo the way that it is, please send me an email on info@julianaevansphotography.com and I will try to answer your question the best I can.
Be blessed,

A beautiful weekend. How to wait!

Tags

I went to Pensacola, FL last week and decided to book few photoshoot sessions since I would be there for a few days. One thing I was not expecting was how much it rained, since the forcast was good when I booked the photoshoots. I ended up having to cancel most the sessions, but God knows everything.
I’ve learned throughout my journey as a photographer to be patient and trust that everything will be ok if I give my worries to God.
Friday ended up being the most beautiful day of the week and I could not have been happier! I booked a portrait session with a great friend of mine and it ended up being amazing! I haven’t photographed too many men by themselves and I did not know how much fun you could have doing it.
Here are few images that I got from that amazing day. Have fun and be blessed!
